EBR Republican candidates promote platforms

Several Republicans announced their intentions Tuesday to seek various local offices in November during a luncheon hosted by the East Baton Rouge Republican Party.

During the luncheon, the candidates, who are running for mayor-president and positions on the Metro Council, discussed their shared passion for conservative fiscal policies and the need to control the parish’s crime problem.

Metro Councilman Mike Walker and entrepreneur John Conroy both asked for support in their pursuit of the office of mayor-president against incumbent Kip Holden, who was not at the Republican-only event.
