Bill to bar tax breaks for porn movies heads to full House
BATON ROUGE -- Producers of pornography should not be eligible to claim taxpayers' dollars for choosing a Louisiana location to make their films, a House committee voted Monday. The Committee on Commerce approved with little debate Senate Bill 513 by Sen. A.G. Crowe, R-Slidell, sending it to the full House for debate. If it passes there without any changes it will go to Gov. Bobby Jindal's desk for his signature or veto. "I want to make certain state taxpayers' money is not used in producing pornography," Crowe said. "I am not trying to define pornography. ... There are now no grounds for the state to deny the tax credits."
