Tucker believes office should have more impact
by Greg Hilburn - News Star (excerpt)

Jim Tucker said the secretary of state's office in Louisiana can and should have more impact.

"This office can do so much more than it does now," said Tucker, R-Terrytown, who has spent the past four years as Louisiana's speaker of the House.

Tucker is challenging Republican Tom Schedler, who's seeking his first elected term after being appointed to the job in 2010 when then-Secretary of State Jay Dardenne won a special election for lieutenant governor.
