SU board chooses Mason as new system president

The Southern University System has a new leader in Jackson State University President Ronald Mason Jr.

The Southern Board of Supervisors voted 14-2 Friday to name Mason, 57, the new system president after he and two other finalists completed their final public interviews.

“I look forward to establishing a strong working relationship and getting to work, because we have a lot of work to do,” Mason told the Southern Board after the vote.
