Road Home Is Nightmare For Some- Nearly 60,000 people are still waiting!

Money dries up

Compounding everyone’s problems is the fact that The Road Home program has run out of money.

Chuck McMains, an attorney lobbyist for ICF, said this week, “The funds that are there in the bank, the $6.2 billion, have now been committed.”

Gov. Kathleen Blanco is proposing to spend over $700 million on the program as a show of good faith. She wants the federal government to come through with money to help make up a deficit that is expected to range from $3 billion to $5 billion.

Nearly 60,000 people are still waiting for The Road Home program to tell them how much financial help they can expect, and they hope somebody will come through with their money.
