Eleven elected officials from Louisiana are planning a trip to Albuquerque, N.M., at the end of January to attend a smart growth conference. The 11 elected officials from Louisiana scheduled to attend the conference are:

West Feliciana Parish Police Juror Ken Dawson.
Hammond Mayor Mayson Foster.
Jefferson Parish Councilman John Young.
Sterlington Mayor Vern Breland.
Sunset Alderman James Charles.
Logansport Mayor Katherine Freeman.
Lafayette Councilman Don Bertrand.
Jena Mayor Murphy McMillin.
St. Charles Parish President V.J. St. Pierre Jr.

CPEX is providing $1,000 in scholarship funding to each of the 11 governmental bodies represented to cover the conference costs.
