Announcement To Be Made At Press Conference In New Orleans Today
(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Sen. David Vitter today issued the following statement regarding the announcement of the location of the new Veterans Affairs medical center in New Orleans.
“I’m certainly glad the VA is doing two things I’ve pushed hard for – 1) rebuilding the VA hospital in southeast Louisiana, not the Florida panhandle; and 2) finally getting on with it for the sake of our veterans, not waiting any longer on LSU’s Charity rebuilding. Unfortunately, this whole plan is still centered on a new Charity plan that avoids fundamental reform and is way too big and expensive.”
