4th District Race: Fleming Caught On Tape In Outright Lie
by Charlie Buras

OLD RIVER ROAD BLOG

Some politicians stretch the truth a little. Some hide behind nuances. And some like Dr. John Fleming just outright lie. Below is video from the League of Women Voter's forum on Thursday night in Shreveport. Chris Gorman says:

And this is an area where Dr. Fleming and I disagree, I don't believe we need to bus in migrant workers under any plan -- and this is something we fundamentally disagree on. I believe they can come, come here legally and pay taxes, but I don't believe we need to create a bus system on the back of businesses.

To which John Fleming replies:

Well first of all let me say I've never proposed such a ridiculous system.

Wait a second, John. You never proposed a transportation system to bus migrant workers into the country?

Back in August when Fleming proposed this "ridiculous system" he now derides, I asked him if there was any clarification needed to his remarks. As I wrote then, he told me, "I stand behind that idea 100 percent." Well, he stood behind it until it became politically inconvenient. Since that time, the Minuteman Founder slammed Fleming's proposal calling it "amnesty on wheels," Fleming lost the double digit lead he once enjoyed and he's been ridiculed for caring more about immigrant welfare than national security.

It's clear from the videos above that John Fleming will say anything to get elected.
