The upcoming Nov. 4 runoff in the District 3 Metro Council election between Republicans Chandler Loupe and M. Scott Wilson is largely a choice between age and experience, the candidates said.
Loupe led four candidates in the Oct. 4 primary with 3,154 votes or 37 percent of the vote. Wilson came in second with 2,618 votes, or 31 percent of the vote.
The two remaining candidates, Democrats Merritt E. McDonald and Rebecca Thompson Pero, have both said they are endorsing Loupe. FuturePAC, the political action committee of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, also has endorsed Loupe.
COMMENTARY: All our previous polling and sources from the district tell us that Loupe should handily win this seat.
