Story Archives: Blanco worried Road Home program may run out of funds

Blanco worried Road Home program may run out of funds
by MICHELLE MILLHOLLON - Advocate (excerpt)

One of the governor’s top aides said her Road Home Program needs roughly $3 billion within three months to avoid going broke.

Blanco herself would not put a price tag on the problem. “I would appreciate some assistance,” she said at the State Capitol.

Don Powell, the president’s point man on the hurricane recovery, will want to know what happened to the $10.4 billion federal money already sent to recover from the hurricanes, Taylor Beery, Powell’s policy director, said.
