REPUBLICAN PARTY ENDORSES JENKINS FOR CONGRESS

On Monday night, the East Baton Rouge Parish Republican Party voted overwhelmingly to endorse Woody Jenkins for the Sixth District Race. Jenkins spoke to the EBR Republican Party on the same night the body elected its officers for the next term.

"Woody made a powerful presentation and spoke passionately and knowledgeably about all the conservative issues close to Republicans' hearts," stated East Baton Rouge Republican Chairman Harold Williams. "We felt it was important to get behind a candidate who represents all aspects of the community. We believe Woody Jenkins is that candidate. He represents our values, has the necessary experience, works relentlessly and will beat any Democrat who emerges from the primary."

The members of the committee believed it was important to endorse a candidate prior to Saturday's Republican primary election, which is why they did so at their first official meeting.

"I worked with Woody for many years in the legislature and I know him to be a man of integrity and solid conservative convictions," said EBR Republican Treasurer Dr. Dan Kyle. "I believe Woody will be a powerful voice for Louisiana and for the constituents of the Sixth District. That is why we need to make it known now that he is our clear choice for Congress."
