Representatives from the state's movie industry are traveling to Los Angeles to promote Shreveport and Louisiana.
A group will attend a Saturday conference sponsored by the Directors Guild of America. Titled "Film Incentives: How to Make Your Film in the U.S.A.," the event will bring together 200 directors and unit production managers to discuss incentive programs offered by states throughout the country.
"The goal is to promote the area and see if we can get some interest in more productions coming here," said Arlena Acree, Shreveport's director of film, entertainment and media. "They just need to be reassured that the customer service will remain in place when they get here."
Acree made a similar promotional trip to California in early November. She joined Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover and others to tout the state's advantages at the American Film Market, a major event for selling films and promoting film incentives.
