Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo will formally announce his bid for re-election today.The announcement will be made at 6 p.m. at the Atrium Hotel at 2001 Louisville Ave., Monroe.Mayo began serving as mayor in 2001 after the death of Mayor Melvin Rambin. He was elected to his first full term in office in 2004.Qualifying for the Feb. 9 municipal primary is Dec. 12-14. The municipal general election is March 8.
