This time, the man — Gov. Bobby Jindal — came for LSU System President John Lombardi, who stepped out of line by daring to fail to praise the governor's plan for higher education, which includes further cuts. Lombardi at first urged all of higher education to speak as one voice and not criticize the governor but as of late has been ignored his own warning.
Vengeance is an attitude that has spilled over into the Legislature, where one committee vice chairman was removed for voting his conscience and not toeing the administration line.
