Story Archives: Local Republican voters weighing their options before primary

Local Republican voters weighing their options before primary
by Adam Duvernay - Shreveport Times (excerpt)

With the GOP primary season in full swing and Louisiana's turn near at hand, it's time for the area's Republicans to make the tough choice.

Louisiana's Saturday primary is putting 20 of the state's 46 delegates up for grabs, and Shreveport-Bossier Republicans are still divided on which candidate is the best bet to beat President Barack Obama in November. The other delegates will come into play during the June 2 caucus.

"Our membership is all over the board, and we let them all support their favorite," Chairman of the Caddo Republican Executive Committee Jimmy Allen said. "One thing we all have in common is we want to support the candidate that will prevail in the general election."
