Caldwell Parish Sheriff Steve May, accused of malfeasance in office reportedly by "fixing" tickets for parish residents, is expected to be arraigned Feb. 28. According to Mark McKee, 37th District Attorney, May's arraignment is scheduled for around 10:30 a.m.
May turned himself into authorities at Caldwell Parish Detention Center on Thursday night. Officials said he was back at work on Friday, released on his own recognizance after surrendering and being booked on 15 counts of malfeasance in office.
The investigation into May's actions was conducted by McKee's office, with the assistance of the State Inspector General's Office.
