Mary Landrieu to join presidential delegation to Guatemala

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, of Louisiana, will be part of a presidential delegation attending the inauguration Saturday of Guatemala’s new president, Otto Perez Molina, the White House recently announced.

She traveled to the country twice last year — in April and August — as part of congressional delegations focused on improving the international adoptions process and business relations between the United States and Guatemala.

Landrieu, a Democrat, has worked on the adoptions issue as co-chairwoman of the Congressional Coalition on Adoptions, a group she helped create. She also heads the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.
