In an appearance on MSNBC's Morning Joe today, GOP presidential hopeful and former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer says he would "make campaign reform the first issue in America" if he's elected president. Though he's not been invited to participate in any GOP candidate debates thus far, Roemer has gotten attention for refusing to take any donations over $100 and for publicly backing the Occupy Wall Street protesters. Roemer told Morning Joe host and former Florida Congressman Joe Scarborough he's embraced the protesters and their message because "they get it." "They get that somewhere between Wall Street and K Street the system is corrupt," says Roemer, who later remarked to Scarborough: "Your vote is unimportant, Joe. You don't even count. You know who owns America? A few at the top, and they got one thing in mind—no change."
