N.J. governor to help raise money for Jindal's conservative group

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is lending his fundraising power to Gov. Bobby Jindal’s efforts to elect a more conservative Legislature in Louisiana. Christie is the headliner at a Sept. 29 fundraiser for the Louisiana Republican Party’s “victory fund.”

“This is going to be the event where we raise money to make it all happen,” Timmy Teepell, Jindal’s campaign adviser, said Tuesday. The event will be held at a Baton Rouge residence. Teepell said he did not know the name of the homeowner. Tickets start at $10,000 and top out at $100,000.

Teepell said the fundraiser is the only event planned to generate money for a victory fund to help conservative candidates. He said the governor wants to ensure that conservatives are elected to the state House, state Senate and the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
