State budget going before La. House

Louisiana House leaders are preparing to debate the state budget this week with bruised feelings over the Jindal administration’s criticism of their changes to the document. The state government spending plan proposed by the House budget plan for the fiscal year that starts July 1 differs from the one that Gov. Bobby Jindal offered months ago. The House leadership’s budget bill contains deeper cuts in spending than the governor advocates, and drains an economic development fund used by the Jindal administration.
