Louisiana is tied with Tennessee as the states with the highest percentage decrease in individual income tax revenue for the fiscal year that ended June 30, the Census Bureau reported Wednesday.
The reported drop-off was 22.2 percent for Louisiana and Tennessee in fiscal year 2010. North Dakota finished third with a decrease of 17.9 percent in its individual income tax receipts.
There was more bad news for state government in fiscal 2010. Louisiana finished second only to Wyoming in the percentage decrease in state tax receipts of all types, the Census Bureau reported. Louisiana’s dip was 14.2 percent. Wyoming dropped 23.4 percent.
