Jindal visits local church

Governor Bobby Jindal made an unannounced visit to Our Savior's Church in Opelousas on Sunday to speak about his own Christian faith.

"He gave a really good talk," said St. Landry Parish President Don Menard, one of several hundred in attendance at Sunday's service.
The church is currently meeting in the Delta Grand Theatre, a local events center, while its permanent sanctuary is under construction.

"It was a very uplifting talk," Menard said of the governor's roughly hour-long talk. "He would make an excellent preacher."
