ZACHARY — Candidates for a vacant Family Court judge’s seat introduced themselves Thursday to members of the East Baton Rouge Parish Republican Roundtable. Charlene Charlet Day and state Rep. Hunter Greene are seeking the Family Court’s Election Section 2, Division C seat in a special April 2 election. Both candidates are Republicans.
The election is for the remainder of the term begun by Toni Higginbotham, who was elected to the state 1st Circuit Court of Appeal last year. The Family Court term ends Dec. 31, 2014.
Early voting for the election begins March 19 and continues through March 26. The election district includes about half of East Baton Rouge Parish’s land area, but excludes much of the city of Baton Rouge and the city of Baker. The district takes in Zachary, Pride, Central and areas south of Hooper Road and east of Sherwood Forest Boulevard.
