Sen. David Vitter picks up endorsements from 30 Democratic officials

U.S. Sen. David Vitter's campaign released a statement today from more than 30 Democratic elected officials from around Louisiana endorsing the incumbent in his re-election efforts. The statement says: "As Louisiana Democrats, we strongly endorse David Vitter for reelection to the U.S. Senate for two reasons. First, David represents our mainstream Louisiana views on such critical issues as jobs and the federal debt. Second, David is a very effective partner working with us to meet key Louisiana needs including law enforcement, highways, and hurricane and flood protection." New Orleans area signers of the statement include Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizarro, Jr., and Jefferson Parish District Attorney Paul Connick, Jr., Gretna City Councilwoman Raylyn Beevers, Plaquemines Parish Councilwoman Marla Cooper and St. Charles Parish Councilman Shelly Tastet.
