BATON ROUGE -- The House today sent to Gov. Bobby Jindal a bill that would create a special prestige license plate commemorating the Super Bowl championship season of the New Orleans Saints. On a 99-0 vote, the House went along with Senate changes to House Bill 1165 by Rep. Jeff Arnold, D-Algiers, sending it to Jindal. The bill underwent several changes since it was first heard by a House committee March 30. The original version called for the revenues generated by the tags to go to youth sports programs and parks around the state, based on the number of license plates sold in each parish.
