The U.S. Senate late Thursday night confirmed Stephanie Finley as U.S. attorney for Louisiana’s Western District.
Finley will replace acting U.S. Attorney William Flanagan, who assumed the role after Donald Washington resigned in January after more than eight years in the position. U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu recommended the assistant U.S. attorney for the post in July 2009.
Finley has been with the office since 1995. She also served as a lieutenant colonel at Barksdale Air Force Base and remains a Air Force reservist.
