EMAIL THE BOARD OF REGENTS AND TELL THEM WHAT YOU THINK
"Clausen is the first head of a higher education system to voluntarily reduce her pay. The decision also was made quietly. The Associated Press first noticed the change in support documents for the state budget bill. Board of Regents Vice Chairman Bob Levy, of Ruston, said he believes Clausen only discussed the matter privately with a few board members. “It’s an act reflecting the seriousness of the financial crisis,” Levy said. “It was an act of leadership.” Asked why the Board of Regents did not release the information to make a symbolic act, Levy said, “So as not to appear as doing anything but for the right reason. She is not one to toot her own horn.” Levy did note that making a personal sacrifice makes sense when others are being forced to sacrifice. “We’re going to be asking everyone to sacrifice,” he said. “We would hope that everyone has a sense of shared sacrifice.” -THE ADVOCATE
"Clausen, 64, will be eligible to collect a $12,212 monthly pension from the Teachers Retirement System of Louisiana. That's because, unknown to all but a tiny handful of people in state government, Clausen officially "retired" Aug. 1, 2009, only to be rehired immediately by the state" -TIMES PICAYUNE
"After so much secrecy, the regents themselves, along with their commissioner, have some explaining to do" -MONROE NEWS STAR
"How in the world can board members say it isn’t important for them to know the commissioner of higher education has retired and been rehired? Doesn’t she work for them? Meanwhile, Clausen said she isn’t going anywhere" -LAKE CHARLES AMERICAN PRESS
"If members of the board don't have the backbone to force Clausen and Co.'s hands, they should tender their resignations as well. Enough is enough" -THE HANNA NEWSPAPER CHAIN
"To allow Sally Clausen to continue as the so called Commissioner of Higher education for the State of Louisiana is mindboggling to say the least!" -POLLSTER BERNIE PINSONAT
"One would think that restoring public confidence would require that someone will come out and speak, you know, to the public" -THE LAFAYETTE DAILY ADVERTISER
LET THE BOARD OF REGENTS KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THEIR DECISION TO IGNORE SALLY CLAUSEN'S RETIREMENT SCAM!
As we said earlier, "The blowback is coming and it will be severe. We agree with several recent editorials that they should all be fired for masquerading as public servants!!!"
We printed: IF WOULD LIKE TO SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD MR. ARTIS TERRELL HIS EMAIL ADDRESS IS terrell@willcap.com
We were contacted the same day by the Regents office and they suggested we give another address instead for all the board members: Borinfo@Regents.la.gov
Apparently, Mr. Terrell received a few too many personal emails at his office. Thank you for participating. It is important that the insiders know that we are paying attention.
(NOTE: There are no email addresses listed for any of these people on the Board of Regents website, with your help maybe they will now get a clue!)
