U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, was just one of the House members upset with the remarks of Mexican President Felipe Calderon in this past week’s joint session of Congress. Calderon condemned U.S. gun laws and Arizona’s tough new immigration law that allows police to question people suspected of being illegal immigrants.
“I was discouraged that President Calderon did not address the illegal flow of immigrants onto American soil in a manner that would deliver concrete solutions,” Alexander said in a statement.
“I strongly object to Mexico intervening in our sovereign matters,” Alexander said.
