MELANCON SLAMMED!

The National Republican Congressional committee slammed congressman Charlie Melancon Thursday evening for skipping votes in the U.S. House to attend a fund raiser, THE DEAD PELICAN CAN reveal. Charlie Melancon is currently serving as congressman for Louisiana's third congressional district. He is also an announced candidate for U.S. Senate.

In the scathing statement, the NRSC suggested that Melancon was more devoted to campaigning than to his district. See full statement below.

In case you missed it last week, Democrat Senate hopeful Charlie Melancon was caught skipping votes in the U.S. House in order to attend a fundraiser for his Senate campaign.

This comes after Melancon quit his position on the House Budget Committee, signaling that he’s simply more focused on campaigning than representing Louisiana's 3rd District.
