State educators said Tuesday they plan to submit essentially the same “Race To The Top” proposal on June 1 as the one that failed to land any federal prize money in March.
The $4.4 billion contest has been touted as a way to reward states for education innovation.
However, only two states were picked in the first round among 15 finalists and the District of Columbia, triggering widespread criticism of the selection process. Louisiana finished 11th after earlier being trumpeted as one of the favorites.
