TEA PARTY CAC 'LEGISLATIVE SCORECARD': 'SO EASY EVEN A POLITICIAN CAN GET IT!

The Tea Party CAC was created as a "common ground" website for Tea Party members and supporters throughout Louisiana. It is merely an educational tool and does not presume to speak for any or all Tea Party groups. Rather, it serves as a starting point for recruitment by the groups that already exist and hopefully, will inspire membership and organization of new groups throughout the state.

In just over a month, the Tea Party 'Citizen Action Center' website has had over 100,000 visitors and has generated several hundred emails messages to legislators. The newsletter subscriber list is now over 2000 and has over 1200 Facebook 'Friends.' As a promotional tool the Tea Party CAC has also produced a TV commercial currently airing on Fox News.

The Tea Party Citizen Action Center (http://teapartycac.com/) has begun compiling voting records of legislators related to fiscal matters and core philosophical issues and principles, (no positions on social issues.)

The more obvious concerns involve growth and intrusiveness of government. Obviously, the addition of taxes, fees and tapping of publicly dedicated funds for unrelated purposes will be included, as will the unnecessary expenditure of taxpayer dollars. Clearly, the scorecard will be designed to measure the lawmakers performance on a scale of adherence to the mission of creating a leaner, more efficient government, devoid of waste and duplication of services. Transparency with regard to open public records and meetings will also be taken into account. In simple terms, it will be a rating of "accountability to the public."

According to recent polling data, the voters of Louisiana have many concerned regarding how and where their hard-earned tax dollars are spent. The 'Citizen Action Center' will provide the information necessary for voters to understand the positions taken by the members of the state legislature in an uncomplicated, unfiltered format. "It's so easy even a politician can understand it."
