Washington Watch: Cassidy Attacks On Health Care

U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge, has been conducting sneak attacks in Democratic districts over health care.

Cassidy, a physician who has voted against the health-care bill, has been making the rounds on talk radio in Democratic districts in hopes of putting pressure on House Democrats over the bill. Cassidy did three interviews this past week in Wisconsin, California and Florida.

As a Republican doctor who has worked with the uninsured, Cassidy is hoping to use his appearances to dispel the Democrats’ labeling of Republicans as “the party of no.” He also intends to counter information Democrats are giving their constituents about the bill.
