Our sources tell us that the Tea Party of Louisiana has voted to become involved in the upcoming election in Iberville Parish. The proposal on the ballot is to repeal term limits for the parish government officials. After serving a full three-terms in office these politicians are looking to change the law to serve indefinately, "Unlimited Terms" in office.
The source noted that the vote was unanimous and the Louisiana Tea Party folks are currently mounting an opposition campaign and planning a rally at or near the parish courthouse prior to the election.
To quote the Tea Party activist source: "It’d be nice to see politicians understanding the spirit of the law and not trying to undo it because it’s inconvenient to their personal goals. There’s nothing scarier than the idea of a 'career politician'; no matter how nice he/she appears."
