The Ouachita Parish School Board wants the administrative staff to look at the feasibility of going to a four-day school week to save money. While Ouachita Parish investigates the possibility, Superintendent Bob Webber said other districts are waiting to see what decision Ouachita makes.
Board member Scott Robinson brought up the four-day school week in the board's Tuesday meeting. Robinson wants a similar study done by the district three years ago updated to reflect increased energy costs, additional schools and bus transportation.
"I'm not saying let's do it," Robinson said. "Let's look at the figures. If we have to react to budget (cuts) at least we will have something to look at."
