BATON ROUGE – Today, Bobby Jindal’s campaign manager, Timmy Teepell, released the following statement concerning the discovery of nasty attack ads positioned to run against Jindal:

“In the past week we have learned from multiple sources that a media firm from Washington, D.C. has produced a series of nasty attack ads against Bobby Jindal. Because they are having trouble raising money to run these ads, they have been holding a series of meetings previewing the ads and asking for large donations.

“Bobby said in his announcement speech that the people who oppose fundamental change in Louisiana will fight us every step of the way. The people who have been living off of the government gravy train in Louisiana and who have brought government incompetence to record heights will not give up power without a fight.

“Now the Democrat party bosses in Washington are planning a series of attacks against Bobby, including one ad which attacks Bobby for his Christian Faith. This would be an all-time new low, even for desperate political advertising.

“We know Democrat Party operative Chris Whittington told the News Star that he and his party bosses plan to launch $1 million of negative attack ads against Bobby. Now they are shopping for contributions to fund these attacks.

“But, one thing is certain; no amount of dirty tricks from Washington can stop us now. This is our opportunity to make real change in Louisiana. We can create a bright future by waging and winning our war against government waste, against government corruption, and against government incompetence.

“The clowns who have been feeding at the government trough are growing increasingly desperate. But we will prevail; we will take our government back.

“This is our time.”
