Senator Mary Landrieu will cast the deciding vote in the nationalized health care debate. Louisiana has been overwhelmingly against what is known as "Obamacare," and it is possible that U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu will cast the vote that delivers America into socialized medicine. And she was endorsed by prominent Republicans!
Mary's vote could be an act of what some call "political homicide" for the Republicans who backed her! Among those Republicans who have endorsed Landrieu was St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain. In October 2008, Strain told WWL that he "wasn't a closet Democrat" and that he was "pro-Sarah Palin and pro-John McCain." St. Tammany voters are some of the Obama health plan's biggest critics.
Strain and other Republicans who endorsed Landrieu face tremendous backlash if Landrieu casts the deciding vote in favor of nationalized health care. "Elections have consequences, and so do endorsements" said a top campaign source.
