Gov. Bobby Jindal’s loss is U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy’s gain. Jindal’s chief of boards and commissions James Quinn took over the job as the Republican Baton Rouge congressman’s chief of staff, effective last Thursday. Quinn had been executive director of the Louisiana Republican Party prior to going to work for Jindal.
Quinn replaces Josh Robinson in Cassidy’s office. Robinson left to run Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst’s re-election campaign, said Cassidy press secretary Wes Climer.
Jindal press secretary Kyle Plotkin said the governor has not chosen a replacement for Quinn, who vetted Jindal’s candidates for the hundreds of positions on state boards and commissions.
