Quirky, yet sound advice from Jindal to BPCC grads

In his commencement speech at Bossier Parish Community College’s 51st graduation ceremony, Gov. Bobby Jindal advised, among other things, the grads avoid greed, dream big and remember to floss.

Yes, floss. Because, as Jindal said, nobody wants to deal with your bad breath.

The commencement speaker cautioned, “I hope you all have great success, but money is not success. The real cause of the American economic problem is greed.”

And lastly, Jindal encouraged the BPCC grads to dream big. “Through life, people give up their dreams — not all at once, but day by day.”

While some will dream big and go far, Jindal said, going far doesn’t necessarily mean traveling far from home. “Remember what Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz said — ‘There’s no place like home.’”

COMMENTARY: Maybe Bobby should follow his own advice.
